A new beginning...

School to College… First day- Always a mélange of emotions… Next step- College to a Job!

Nervous? (Oh freak what if they don’t like me…what if I am not good…what if I don’t like them :p )

Excited? (YAY! My new job…my first job! YAY!!! And that too a job related to movies…wohooo!!!)

Happy? (Obviously…I am absolutely in a wohoooo mood)

Sad? (Kind of…leaving behind the carefree life to be the responsible adult…)

All these and many more feelings, emotions and thoughts were running through my mind all night yesterday. I couldn’t even sleep early (although I tried so that I won’t fall asleep while working and so that I look all fresh…) due to all this tension!

The moment all my family and friends came to know that I got a job, the first question most of them asked was – “So what will you do with your first salary?” I hadn’t even started working and the questions about money had already started coming in. Money- the vicious circle of life… Yeah I say that ‘coz everything actually starts with money and ends with it…

For that matter even when I heard about the salary, my thought process immediately took off ‘coz now I won’t be asking my mom for money to go out eat, gift someone, for railway pass and stuff like that. Now I had to use the money cautiously and carefully… I won’t be able take a cab at every short distance just ‘coz I am too lazy to walk or just ‘coz I am too tired! I will have to finally do what my mom always used to ask me to do- maintain a diary for my expenses…Uff!

But all this apart, the thought of starting a job, finally, is so exciting… Soon, probably even I will find out how difficult this adult life actually is ‘coz it is always easy to preach but difficult to apply. Let’s see if I can find out simpler ways to manage my finances now that I will actually experience whatever I share on this platform.
